Yolanda is a master’s student in the Experimental Medicine program of University of British Columbia. She graduated from the Combined Major in Science program of University of British Columbia with a wide background in computer science, life sciences and chemistry. She began her graduate studies in 2014 with Dr. Scott Tebbutt and her research focuses on identifying biomarkers that discriminate various phenotypes of allergic asthma and occupational asthma.
Yolanda is a recipient of the Mitacs Accelerate Internship Award (2016), UBC Faculty of Medicine Graduate Awards as well as various travel awards from AllerGen and BC Proteomic Network. She also participated in the URO REX mentorship program to mentor undergraduate students with statistical analysis.
