The Data Effect: A project by CityAge Media Inc arrives in Vancouver on June 5!

CityAge Media Inc claims that BC health care is on the cutting edge of Big Data, and they plan on proving this to all those involved in the many facets of BC health care during “The Data Effect”. This year’s event will be held at the Vancouver Westin Bayshore on June 5th, and promises to ‘explore our hidden opportunity’ in Big Data. Speakers from government  (including Hon. Mike De Jong, Minister of Health, BC), from business (including Bill Barrable, CEO, Rick Hansen Institute), and from research (including Dr. Julio Montaner, Founder and Director of the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS) are scheduled to participate in this event. The PROOF Centre’s very own Dr. Bruce McManus will be joining these distinguished collegues as he will speak during Session #1.

There are four sessions altogether, and each session will cover a different aspect of “The Data Effect”. The first session will ask the question “What is the opportunity?”, while the second session will take a close look at the role of privacy. Session #3 is titled “Saving Lives, Saving Money: How to link, analyze and design the data”, and this will be followed by Session #4 “Achieving our Data Future Now”.
